UWA Sports Park is home to several UWA sports clubs.
Since the establishment of the first sporting clubs in 1913, the University has developed strong and proud sporting traditions. It has demonstrated throughout its history a commitment to participation in sporting and cultural activities complementing its academic curricula for the benefits of students, staff and the broader community of Western Australia.
Sports clubs
These sports clubs train and operate at UWA Sports Park
- UWA Athletics Club (UWAAC) is one of WA's oldest athletics clubs. It was founded in April 1928 and started out as a University-based club. It now welcomes members of all ages and all abilities.
- UWA Baseball and Softball Club (UBSC)
- UWA Hockey Club is one of the most successful and progressive hockey clubs in Australia. A strong membership base backed by first rate facilities has seen the club achieve consistent success with our top flight teams contributing members to Australian and state teams and club teams at all levels.
- UWA Rugby Club is renowned throughout Perth for its expansive style of rugby and special social life. We run five mens XVs, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade and U/20 Colts. UWA Rugby also fields a Ladies XV. As well as senior rugby we have many teams for different youth age groups from under 6 to under 15.
- UWA Tennis Club is a vibrant sports group providing social and competitive tennis for all levels.
- UWA Nedlands Football Club was founded in 1911. Since then, it has played in three leagues: The Metropolitan Junior Football Association, the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and the league it is affiliated with currently, the West Australian Amateur Football League (WAAFL).
- UWA Soccer Club was established in 1949 by UWA students. Over the years the club has built itself into one the largest senior clubs in the state for both students and non-students on the back of a strong presence in amatuer mens, womens and social football.
- UWA Tennis Centre - UWA Sports Park is home to the UWA Tennis Centre, Perth's only clay court tennis centre. It offers a great tennis environment for both university students and general members of the public.
